Waitlist privacy notice
How your waitlist information is handled.
What we collect
To join the waitlist we need your first name and email address. You can also add the first names of friends you'd like to join with, your crew. If you sign up as a venue or brand, you can also tell us your business name and what you'd like to do with us. We save whether you ticked “Email me updates about Wake Up”, with the date and time you answered, and when you signed up. If you joined our earlier waitlist, we also hold the city, province or region and country you gave then, with the date, time and wording of the consent you gave.
Why we collect it
We use this information to manage the Wake Up waitlist, help crews get into the Calgary pilot together, reply to venues and brands, understand where interest is growing, and invite people to testing or early access. Joining the waitlist does not create a platform account or guarantee early access.
Friends you add
We use your friends' first names only to keep your crew together on the waitlist. We never contact them. Please add first names only, and nothing else about them.
Your email choices
We'll email you when your invite is ready. If you ticked “Email me updates about Wake Up”, we'll also send occasional updates about the project and its launch. Every update identifies Wake Up and includes a working way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Unsubscribing stops future optional updates, although a limited suppression record may be kept to honour your request.
Ideas you share
If you suggested a name, activity, challenge or event on our earlier website, we keep the suggestion and when it was submitted, to help develop ideas for the platform. Suggestions are not posted publicly.
How we handle information
Access is limited to people and service providers who need it to run the waitlist. The website runs on Cloudflare Workers, and waitlist information is stored in Cloudflare D1, a database service provided by Cloudflare. Hosting and future email-service providers may process information outside Alberta or Canada, including in the United States.
Retention and safeguards
Information is kept only while reasonably needed for the waitlist and the communications you agreed to, or as required by law. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no online system can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask to access or correct your information, withdraw consent, unsubscribe, or request deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements. Contact emmiesprojects@gmail.com to make a privacy request.
Legal framework
Wake Up is based in Alberta. Alberta privacy legislation may apply to activities within Alberta, while federal requirements may apply to interprovincial or international transactions and commercial electronic messages. This notice may be updated as the project, service providers and legal obligations develop.
